Regreening Ethiopia – Tony Rinaudo on ABC Radio National

November 10, 2014

Central and northern Ethiopia are places scarred by famine. The country has one of the harshest climates on earth but the hillsides are slowly turning green. Climate-smart agriculture and holistic community development are combining to turn dust bowls into sources of food surplus.

Tony Rinaudo, interviewed by Jonathan Green for ABC Radio National’s Sunday Extra, tells how the Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration movement has started and grown from Niger to Ethiopia across the whole Sahel region, improving communities livelihoods and building resilience to climate change.
