Africa faces ‘perfect storm’ of climate change and population growth
World Vision’s Tony Rinaudo explains why many of Africa’s lowlands could face “massive famine’ in the next 10-15 years, due to a combination of climate change, population growth and land degradation.
Rinaudo says simple farming techniques can help restore degraded lands, pointing to his own experience in Niger working with villages to develop a balance between crops and trees, and rebuilding local ecosystems to ensure they are more resilient.
